| It was a pretty but chilly day and we decided to get out of the house and take a drive into the county of Derbyshire and to the town of Chesterfield where the church is with the crooked spire (caused from using unseasoned timbers, when it was built, that have bent over time). It is unusual and interesting. Then we drove to the charming little town of Bakewell, where we watched the ducks, geese & swan on The River Wye for a while and then had lunch at a little bakery-cafe. We each had a pastie filled with beef & veggies. It was the biggest we've ever had, too big. haha! Then I had coffee cake with ice cream for dessert. Don't think Ken got any dessert but I don't feel complete till I have my dessert, UNFORTUNATELY! LOL We then drove on to The Chatsworth Estate where Chatsworth House is, not too far from Bakewell. Chatsworth House and Estate is one of my very FAVE stately homes that I've seen since I've been in England - it just blows your mind away when you come upon it!!! The surroundings are just breath taking!!! It was a gorgeous fall day and it was just beautiful there.
