Always remember - you can either click Next to see each pic at your own rate OR you can click on Slideshow, whichever you prefer. Also, each photo has a description underneath it. Any questions, feel free. Thanks for your time. Wednesday morning we left our house here in Mossley at 7am to get to the airport 3 hours early, as instructed for security reasons, and we left the Manchester International Airport at about 11am, 19th of September, had a good journey, changing once in Philadelphia, PA. We arrived at the Nashville International Airport on Wednesday evening early - their time (about midnight our time) and went to pick up our rental car and to our surprise Dollar upgraded it at no extra cost - to a beautiful red Dodge Charger. It was bigger than Ken is used to driving, along with the difference in the roads and intersections in the U.S., etc..., but he soon adjusted and really enjoyed it and I loved it, wanted to take it back to England with us. LOL We were going to drive to my daughter's for a little while that evening but we were so pooped, after being up way too long, and it was a 20-25 minute drive to Angie & Matt's house from the motel, so we decided to wait till the next morning, even tho I wanted to see them so badly. I did call her and talk a while. We were just exhausted and needed some rest, so we ate supper next door at O'Charlie's (a really good restaurant - they have the BEST yeast rolls and all you want of them too) and came back and went to bed. Ken woke up at 1:00 am and went in the lobby to get him a cup of tea!! LOL Body clock messed up!! Thank goodness we both went back to sleep. Thursday morning Ken and I went to my daughter's house and he stayed a little while to meet her and the babies and then left me for most of the day to be with her (he drove downtown Nashville to look at some things he'd seen online such as a train museum, a Camping World & dealership to look at RV's, a campground, Opry Mills Mall, Circuit City, Home Depot and such as that. Needless to say he enjoyed himself and I thought him very brave taking off downtown Nashville when he wasn't yet used to driving in the states). I went with Angie and stayed with the babies in her van, while she went in a few shops looking for Noah some new clothes. She said she'd take advantage of someone being there to watch them for a while, so I agreed. Then we came back and she fixed us some lunch. Angie and I had a good visit and I loved on my sweet grandbabies, Noah & Xander. That evening Ken and I took them out for supper at a cafe with good "southern home cookin", that they had told us about, called - The Loveless Cafe. It's supposed to be really popular with the country stars that live and work in Nashville. Friday Matt took off work and that morning he & Angie picked us up at the motel and we all went downtown Nashville for a look around at the famous clubs and country hot spots, saw The Ryman Auditorium and went in The Tennessee Museum and also had a very nice lunch together at The Spaghetti Factory. Then they dropped us off at our motel and early evening while Angie had to go for a therapy treatment on a hurt foot, Ken and I met "Carol & Don" for supper, also at The Loveless Cafe, cause it is not too too far from Angie & Matt's. Ken & I really enjoyed ourselves and we hope Carol & Don did too. They are delightful people, so very kind and nice!!!! I'm so glad we took the time to meet them and I hope one day to see them again. After a nice meal with them, Ken and I drove back to Angie & Matt's for a visit before bedtime. Saturday we spent the day at Angie's (Ken went back into Nashville for a little while but then came back to Angie's) and that night we ordered pizza. It was a nice day there with my daughter and grandsons. That night we said goodbye but planned to come back by to see them before we flew out of Nashville headed back to England, so it wasn't the final goodbye yet. |
