| On the 18th we got up, ate breakfast which every morning consisted of a full Irish breakfast - much the same as a full English breakfast, and then we left for Killarney, about 30 minutes away.
We first stopped at Muckross House a few miles out of Killarney and spent a while there in the beautiful gardens. Then we went to the area where Ross Castle is and took a boat ride in the lake there (beautiful warm day) and after some time in this area, we were taken to the town of Killarney and stayed there a good while, just roaming around. We ate lunch at a cafe above a shop in Killarney. The cafe was called Paddy's Cafe. Ken got some sort of beef and I got cabbage with ham. It was nice as I had not had cabbage since being in England. I could have, just hadn't cause Ken doesn't like it (I think I may buy me some now tho....it sure tasted good). After our lunch, we went right next door to an ice cream parlor for some yummy ice cream. After a full day out around Killarney, we went back to the hotel for the last night. Thursday morning, 19th, we got up, ate and headed back NE toward Dublin. On the way back, we stopped a little while in the charming little village of Adare in the county of Limerick. It was beautiful and we both said we'd like to have had a couple of days there too. Then we headed on to Dublin. The bus drove through Dublin, as we hadn't got to see it on the first day, when we arrived at Dublin from Holyhead, Wales. So I snapped a few pics from the bus thru the windows, not great but ya can see a bit of it. Then on to Dublin Port, where we boarded the Dublin Swift Irish Ferry heading home. We had a lunch on board (mine was yummy pasta....I can ALWAYS eat pasta). We arrived back home about 8:00 that night and was welcomed by our Queenie cat. We were glad to be home and pretty tired by then. (I would go back tomorrow tho.....WE LOVED IRELAND!!!!) Hope you enjoyed your trip to Ireland with us. We loved sharing our time with you.
