| Hi! I have 5 days worth of photos so am making 3 separate albums with days 1 & 2 in one, day 3 in one, and days 4 & 5 in one album. That way it will be easier for you to view each album at your liesure. Each photo has a description underneath it. Hope you enjoy your journey with us around The Ring of Kerry in gorgeous Ireland. I LOVE IT....wanna move there! We crossed from Holyhead, Wales to Dublin, Ireland on Sunday 15th, in the early afternoon and headed to SW Ireland. We arrived in Tralee that evening around 8:00 and had a nice supper at the hotel, headed to bed and the next morning headed to The Ring of Kerry for the day. Just a note about the Kerry Bog Village. Bog is another word for moors. You see the big piles of black peat in some of the pics at the bog village. Peat was dug out of the bog, dried and used for heating and still is used by some for heating today. (This was also done in England, Scotland & Wales because the moors & bogs are rich in peat.) ALSO wanted to remind you to notice the Gaelic language on all the signs. Some little villages only have signs in the Gaelic and not English. Enjoy! We LOVED Ireland and can't wait to one day go back!!!! The greens were soooo GREEN and the fields were full of beautiful BRIGHT YELLOW Gorse and sprinklings of pastel colored houses here and there. We hit a beautiful spell of weather with blue skies and the sea coast was just out of this world....so bright and blue-green!!! A little heaven on earth! For anyone who hasn't used this site before, just click on the first photo thumbnail and then you can either view them by clicking on Next OR by clicking on SLIDESHOW. There is a button there also where if you want to, you can see the FULL SIZE of a photo. (Thanks for wanting to view our albums.) |
