| Friday morning after eating breakfast at the B&B, we left Shaftesbury headed to the beautiful Roman built city of Bath and took 2 bus tours around the entire area and saw many beautiful buildings (saw where Jane Austen lived when she and her family moved to Bath) and then had lunch at a little cafe (the oldest house in Bath), but in a hurry, cause we had forgot we had parked in a short-stay car park, and it was going to be £25 if we were longer than 4 hours, but we made it with about 20 minutes to spare! Whewwwwww!!!!
We had planned to drive on home on Friday but ended up staying an extra night cause we were beat, after all that walking the day before at the steam fair, so we stayed Friday night in South Wales, in the village of Chepstow, where Chepstow Castle is, that we had planned to see on the way home. It was awesome, as all the big castle ruins are!!! The history of the castles is so interesting and it is just so overwhelming at times, to be standing in one of those huge OLD castle ruins, where so much history took place. I just love the ancient ruins of the castles and abbeys!!! I want t see them all but that would take forever, so many to see!!! After spending a good while at the castle, we walked around the village of Chepstow and took a few photos, found a B&B and relaxed a while before going to a pub-restaurant called The Boat Inn. There we had a delicious steak supper and dessert. Got so full but it surely was yummy!!! I haved put a description under each photo for you. Enjoy! |
