| It was a gorgeous sunny day in July and we decided to go to Bramall Hall (about 35 minutes drive from Mossley, in the county of Cheshire) because we had read they were having a Food Fayre and I had been wanting to go inside it, so off we went. There was good food everywhere (we brought home a loaf of Welsh Barabrith & a few other items).
By the way, several of these photos are blurred a bit because I wasn't allowed to use flash in the hall but I went ahead and took photos with no flash, so that made the shutter speed open the lens wider to let in the light but causes it not to be as steady or something like that, Ken says. LOL We had free entry to the hall because of the Food Fayre being partly inside it, so we got to see Medieval Bramall Hall for FREE and it is one of my favorites I've seen. I love the medieval halls best, I think. There are old homes from every period all over the UK and it's hard to pick favorites. The medievals are very very very very old and this one has been kept in good shape. It has been owned by only 3 families in the last 800 years. Here is a website to go have a really good look at it and its history. Very interesting! http://www.bramallhall.org.uk/ It's amazing and I want to go back and see it again. LOL We walked through it twice the day we were there and then walked all around the grounds as you can see in the photos. Before we left, I got a nice homemade "beef burger" with onions & Ken's got a "beef burger" with English bacon. I will describe each photo underneath it, as best I can. Enjoy your tour with us of this beautiful part of English history. |
